The first Earth Day held in 1970 greatly expanded the
ecological consciousness of the nation, effectively captured the attention of
American business and government, and provided the impetus for establishment of
the Environmental Protection Agency, as well as passage of the National
Environmental Policy Act, Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, Endangered Species
Act, and others. This April 22nd, organizers of "Earth Day" expect more than one billion people around the globe will participate some way in Earth Day activities and help “Mobilize the Earth.” CHECK BELOW FOR MORE INFO ON EARTH DAY: Earth Day http://www.earthday.org/ Presidential Proclamation "Earth Day" http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/2014/04/21/presidential-proclamation-earth-day-2014 Earth Day Tips to Help Your Family "Go Green" http://www.csmonitor.com/The-Culture/Family/Modern-Parenthood/2012/0421/Earth-Day-2012-Tips-to-help-your-family-go-green-this-year A Billion Acts of Green http://act.earthday.org/events/search/distance/58301 What Can YOU Do For Earth Day? http://www.earthday.org/what-can-you-do-earth-day |
